Mary Kay owns her own solar water heating panels on every home she ever owned! But let’s talk about her business…

Mary Kay Sustainable?

Yes, of course Mary Kay is sustainable ‘if’ you are willing to do the following to keep the money coming in day after day:

  • Buy all the products
  • Use all the products
  • Continue to build that ‘warm list’
  • Sell, sell, sell and then sell more
  • Talk to everyone, including strangers daily
  • Continue to have ‘those’ meetings
  • Sponsor all those you bring in and teach them to sell, sell, sell
  • Be sure and be available 24/7 for those 3-way calls
  • and then do this all over again and again on a daily basis

With doing all the above daily to make a decent monthly income, which only 2% to 3% ever make a decent living, you’re bound to get sick and tired of it, don’t you think?

Well, I did.

And I was making 6 figures for that first year I was in the MLM that I joined. So, it isn’t me writing this article to complain because I didn’t make any money.

No, I’m writing this because there is a much easier and consistent way of making money online and from home (I usually work in my pajamas) with local business owners.

So, back to Mary Kay and how it started.

Founder

Well, this is obvious, the founder if Mary Kay Cosmetics is Mary Kay Ash. She actually started with the last of her money, which was $5,000 and the help of her 20yr old son Richard Rogers. Mary Kay launched her company on Friday, Sept. 13, 1963 in a little store in Dallas, Texas, with five products.

Mary Kay has grown to become one of the largest direct sellers of skin care and color cosmetics in the entire world at this time. She has an incredible story, that’s for sure.

Mary Kay Ash died at her home in Dallas in 2001. She was 83. Mary died of natural causes, according to a company release, Mary Kay Inc. She is undoubtedly Known for her pink Cadillacs and pink packaged products. She began Mary Kay Inc. with 11 employees in 1963. As of last year in 2014, her company employed more than 1,000,000 people in 37 countries, with revenues of over $3.5 billion.

What an incredible business she built!

She was born Mary Kathlyn Wagner in 1918 in the city of Houston, Texas. She went to school and was studying to become a doctor, but then her focus was directed on sales at her part-time job for Stanley Home Products.

Right before she started Mary Kay, she lost a very lucrative promotion to a man, who was hired as her assistant. Mary started with one product, a skin care cream, and hired friends and family to sell it, which grew into several products.

Most successful women/men who are selling a huge amount and bringing in a ton of people get the gift of the beautiful pink Cadillac. Well, if you like pink….LOL.

Mary retired as company chairwoman in  the year 1987. In 1996, she suffered a stroke. She has two sons, 16 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild so far…

I admire her as an independent woman, a business woman and an entrepreneur.

Love these incredible stories of entrepreneurs, isn’t that what America is all about!
